The biggest update yet. We kept the shape of the island (the coastline, the beach, Sunset Peak, the mountain and its tarn) and rebuilt everything on top of it from scratch, in one consistent hand-made style.
A quieter ocean
- The sea used to sound the same everywhere, even in the middle of town. Now the surf comes from the nearest bit of shoreline: loud on the sand, fading out as you walk inland.
- It is gentler overall, and indoors all the outdoor sound (surf, wind, crickets, rain) is muffled.
Your beach house
- A brand new two-storey beach house on the west shore, and it is seamless: just walk in through the front door. No more loading into a copy of the house somewhere else.
- Downstairs: an open-plan kitchen with the fridge, a dining table by the ocean windows, and a lounge with a big sofa, armchairs, the TV, the radio and your rolling tray on the coffee table.
- Upstairs: a master bedroom with a balcony over the sea, a guest room with two beds, a bathroom and a reading nook. Three beds in total for sleeping through to sunrise.
- Outside: a back deck, a fenced garden with your four planters, a fire pit with chairs, and a hammock strung between two palms.
- The four decor spots (plant, lamp, poster, rug) moved in with you.
A new village
- A little village round a green with a fountain and a gazebo, a park, a town hall with a clock tower (the Odd Jobs board is out front), homes with porches and picket fences, and the shops on Main Street.
- Walk-in shops: the Smoke Shack, Surf & Threads, the Sunrise Diner, the Burger Barn, Dave's Garage and the Coastal Freight warehouse all have proper interiors now, with the counters and job spots inside.
- Kiosks with walk-up hatches for pizza, coffee, tacos, ice cream and the Island Mart.
- New trees, palms, bushes, rocks and flowers everywhere, spaced out so the island feels open, not cramped.
The coast and the hills
- The beach has a boardwalk, a tiki bar, a lifeguard tower, volleyball, sun loungers and a bonfire with log seats.
- The harbour has a long pier with three fishing spots, and there is a lighthouse on the south point.
- Up the hill: the Sunset Peak lookout with telescopes, the pine cabin, the mountain tarn and its waterfall, the old tower and the hidden cave. The football pitch and the little farm are on the east side.
Fixes
- No more invisible walls. What you see is now exactly what you bump into, everywhere.
- No more flickering walls, floors and window frames.
- Doorways are tall enough to walk through without snagging, and furniture sits where it should (no more floating or sunken props).
- The island map (M) no longer prints place names on top of each other, and the dealer's meet spots have new names that match the new village.
